It’s been a wild week for former LSU football star Odell Beckham Jr.

Watching LSU football win the national championship was easily the highlight of this past week.

But piecing together Odell Beckham Jr’s wild Monday night in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome is a close second.

Almost every day a new video of Beckham acting over-the-top in New Orleans surfaces.

But only one of the videos nearly got him arrested.

Beckham slapped a public safety officer on the rear in LSU’s locker room after the Tigers’ win against Clemson.

OBJ’s actions were in response to the officer trying to shut down LSU’s cigar smoking celebration.

Earlier this week, it was reported that an arrest warrant for simple battery was issued for Beckham.

Late Friday night, however, Nola.com reported that the officer no longer wants to press charges against Beckham. With that being the case, it seems unlikely that the New Orleans Police Department will pursue this much further.

One interesting note from Nola.com’s report is that the officer was apparently following directions from a superior. I know the officer has received plenty of negative attention this week via social media, but it sounds like he was just doing his job. It was a tough spot for the officer to be in.

The whole situation is really much ado about nothing. OBJ should issue a public apology and then everyone can go back to piecing together the star wide receiver’s wild night that seemed like a scene from The Hangover.

By the way, has anyone checked on Mike the Tiger since Monday night?
