Former LSU football assistant Joe Brady took time on Sunday to thank Tigers fans.

Joe Brady only spent one year on LSU football’s staff, but it was a memorable season for fans.

Brady took a job with the Carolina Panthers, serving as Matt Rhule’s offensive coordinator, shortly after helping LSU beat Clemson in the national championship game in New Orleans.

On Sunday, Brady took to Twitter to thank LSU fans, and Louisiana, while proclaiming “once a Tiger, always a Tiger”.

Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron hired Brady last year with the hope that the former William and Mary wide receiver could help LSU’s offense evolve.

I’d say he succeeded.

LSU finished the season with the No. 1 scoring offense in the nation (48.4 points per game). That was up from 32.4 points per game in 2018 (which was No. 38 in the nation).

The individual offensive stats that were put up by LSU players were just ridiculous. Joe Burrow passed for 60 touchdowns and over 5,600 yards. Ja’Marr Chase caught 84 passes for 1,780 yards. Justin Jefferson caught 111 passes for 1,540 yards. Thaddeus Moss set a school record for catches by a tight end with 47.

And did I mention running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who rushed for 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns?

(Oh, and Edwards-Helaire also caught 55 passes for 453 yards.)

Those are silly video game like numbers. They don’t even make sense.

LSU obviously had some extremely talented players on the roster, but it’s clear that Brady had a massive effect on the offense.

Next. LSU's defining moment of the 2019 season. dark

It’s easy to see why Rhule and the Panthers wanted to bring Brady to Charlotte.

Carolina certainly got a good one.
