LSU Football’s defining moment of the 2019 season

LSU football’s 2019 season will go down as one of the single greatest seasons by a team in sports history.
LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow believes there was a moment in 2019 that was the “Heisman moment” for the Tigers.
And it came in early November against Alabama.
By the time LSU faced the Crimson Tide, the Tigers were a team that had everyone’s attention.
LSU was 8-0 and had already beat three top 10 teams, but it was the win against Alabama that made folks start believing the 2019 Tigers could be special.
Before this season, LSU hadn’t beat Alabama since 2011.
And the road to the national championship always goes through Tuscaloosa.
It shocked some folks when LSU went into Bryant-Denny stadium and put up 46 points. That just doesn’t happen to Alabama.
But for the Tigers, it was just business as usual. Burrow tossed for 393 yards and three touchdowns and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase caught six passes for 140 yards and a touchdown. Running back Clyde Edawrds-Helaire rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns.
It was a complete team performance that showcased what the Tigers could do against some of the best talent in the nation.
For three quarters, LSU completely dominated Alabama. Perhaps they left off the gas a bit in the fourth quarter. But even if they did, the final score of 46-41 was not indicative of how the game actually went.
Winning the national championship against Clemson was certainly the best moment of the season for the Tigers, but the win against Alabama was undoubtedly the defining moment of the season for LSU.
