LSU football’s Lloyd Cushenberry decided to skip his final season of eligibility to enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
LSU football offensive lineman Lloyd Cushenberry was advised to not enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
According to The Advocate, the draft grade that Cushenberry received was the equivalent of “go back to school and try again in 2021”.
Cushenberry declared for the draft anyway.
And it looks like he made the right decision.
Cushenberry, who started 28 straight games at center for LSU, has been impressive this week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL.
So impressive, in fact, that he was voted as one of the South Squad’s offensive practice players of the week.

Cushenberry has been drawing rave reviews all week.

A recent mock draft from SB Nation’s New Orleans Saints website, Canal ST Chronicles, projected New Orleans to select Cushenberry in the third round.
They note that while Cushenberry was a center in college, it’s possible he could transition to guard in the NFL.
Cushenberry’s versatility should make him a very attractive option for NFL teams. Plus he has plenty of SEC starting experience, which will make his leap to the NFL a bit easier.
I know LSU fans were sad to see Cushenberry, a Louisiana native, leave Baton Rouge early for the NFL, but it certainly appears he made the correct decision.
