Archie Manning couldn’t help but heap an incredible amount of praise on LSU’s Joe Burrow this week.

If anyone knows what a great quarterback looks like, it’s Archie Manning.

After all, Manning’s two sons, Peyton and Eli, have won a total of four Super Bowls (and three Super Bowl MVPs).

So when Archie speaks about quarterbacks, it’s probably worth listening to him.

This week, Joe Burrow was the recipient of the prestigious Manning Award, which goes to the nation’s top quarterback.

Shocking, right?

Anyway, Manning had some incredible praise for Burrow, saying “I’m not sure we’ve ever seen a quarterback have the high level of sustained and consistent excellence against a very challenging schedule that Joe Burrow had this season”.

Manning added “He simply didn’t have an off-day all season-long, which is amazing. And then in the postseason, he managed to take his game to another level.”

When Manning said he’s never seen a quarterback have the kind of sustained success Burrow had in 2019, it speaks volumes. I mean, Archie watched his son Peyton become a household name at Tennessee. Archie is putting Burrow above Peyton’s accomplishments (as he should, Peyton never had a season like Burrow, nor did he win a Heisman Trophy or a national championship). That says a lot.

(By the way, Burrow noted that Peyton texts him several times a week.)

Now, will Burrow be able to translate his collegiate success to NFL success?

That remains to be seen.

Next. How will Coach O and Bo Pelini co-exist?. dark

But I wouldn’t advise betting against Joe Burrow. He seems to enjoy proving the doubters wrong.
