4. Gus Malzahn — Auburn

It feels like Guz Malzahn is almost always on the hot seat.

And I’m not really sure why.

Malzahn has never had a losing season as Auburn’s head coach. And he’s one of the few coaches that’s had moderate success against Nick Saban and Alabama (Auburn’s won three of seven matchups against Bama under Malzahn). His success against Saban alone puts him near the top of this list.

I think firing Malzahn, unless he has a massive collapse, would be a major mistake. Malzahn is averaging nine wins a year at Auburn. That’s not easy to do in the SEC West.

If Malzahn were to leave, who is going to step in and have similar success?
