LSU Football: Power ranking the most stacked SEC head coaching lineup ever
By Zach Ragan
2. Ed Orgeron — LSU
A few years ago, nearly everyone would’ve laughed at Ed Orgeron being No. 2 on this list.
But at this point, I don’t see how he could be any lower than this.
After going 6-2 as the Tigers’ interim head coach in 2016, Coach O led LSU to a 9-4 record in his first full season as the head coach in 2017.
The Tigers took another step forward in 2018, winning 10 games.
And then in 2019, Orgeron helped LSU put it all together and achieve possibly the greatest season in college football history, become only the second team ever to go 15-0.
Coach O is absolutely among the elite coaches not just in the SEC, but in the entire nation. He’s one of the best recruiters on the planet and he knows how to properly build a team.
LSU probably has some more championships in them under Orgeron.
