Tyrann Mathieu dunked on the haters after winning Super Bowl LIV

Former LSU football standout Tyrann Mathieu is now a Super Bowl champion.
Former LSU football star Tyrann Mathieu has had an interesting football journey, dating back to his days in Baton Rouge.
Mathieu was kicked off the LSU football team just before the start of the 2012 season. He entered the NFL draft early and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2013 draft.
The adversity didn’t end there for Mathieu, either. In 2013 the Honey Badger tore his left ACL. He tore his right ACL in 2015.
Mathieu was cut by the Cardinals after the 2017 season.
After spending the 2018 season with the Houston Texans, Mathieu signed a three year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
All the adversity finally paid off for Mathieu on Sunday night in Miami, as he helped the Chiefs to a 31-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.
Mathieu, who finished the game with six tackles (second on the team), had a message for the haters after winning the Super Bowl.
Kind of.
Instead of directly responding to the folks who have doubted him over the years, he left them with a simple message.
“I’m a champion.”
It has to be an incredible feeling for Mathieu, after all the ups and downs he’s experienced, to walk off the field knowing he’s a Super Bowl champion.
That’s what every player works for. And everyone takes a different path to get there.
Mathieu’s path was anything but easy, but it certainly paid off in the end.
And Mathieu is satisfied knowing he’s a champion. He doesn’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone.
