LSU football is one of the many programs in the nation interested in 2023 quarterback Arch Manning.

LSU football badly wants to land New Orleans native Arch Manning, a 2023 quarterback from New Orleans who is the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, and the son of former Ole Miss wide receiver Cooper Manning.

But if you look at Manning’s 247Sports’ recruiting profile, you’ll notice he doesn’t have an offer from LSU.

Or from any other program.

That’s because the Manning family isn’t accepting any offers for Arch just yet.

According to a recent article from Sports Illustrated, LSU hosted a 7-on-7 tournament last summer that included Manning and some of his teammates. Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron and his staff spent much of the time “schmoozing” the Manning family.

247Sports reporter Shea Dixon told Sports Illustrated of the interaction “I haven’t seen LSU coaches put that attention on a senior, let alone a kid who just finished eighth grade”.

When Orgeron was ready to offer Arch, he learned there would be no acceptance of an offer.

Essentially, the Manning family is trying to take things slow with Arch, and not have him overwhelmed by the media whirlwind that’s likely to hit at some point. According to Sports Illustrated, the Mannings plan to have Arch gradually start doing interviews this spring.

As for where Manning will go to college?

That’s anyone’s guess.

There won’t be any pressure for Arch to attend Ole Miss (where his father, grandparents and Uncle Eli attended) or Tennessee (where Uncle Peyton played). The Mannings want Arch to make his own decision.

Perhaps LSU, just 90 minutes away from New Orleans, can convince Arch to stay close to home.

After all, the young quarterback might be the closest thing to Joe Burrow we ever seen again.
