It’s been an eventful offseason for LSU football after winning the national championship in January.

So far this offseason, LSU football has replaced their defensive coordinator, passing game coordinator, and a slew of important analysts.

The Tigers also lost former defensive line coach Dennis Johnson, who was forced to an off-the-role in 2019 due to a pair of knee injuries.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron hired Bo Pelini last month to replace Dave Aranda as the Tigers’ defensive coordinator.

Scott Linehan was hired on Monday to replace Joe Brady as LSU’s passing game coordinator.

And there might be more staff shakeup on the way.

According to 247Sports, running backs coach Tommie Robinson is working on a contract that expires March 1. He’s reportedly set to interview at South Carolina for the same position (former NC State running backs coach/co-offensive coordinator Des Kitchings has also interviewed with the Gamecocks).

If Robinson leaves (which seems likely since he hasn’t received a new contract), it’s probable that former LSU running back Kevin Faulk would be elevated to an on-the-field role. Faulk, who played 13 seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots, is currently serving as the Tigers’ director of player development.

247Sports noted that Faulk is a favorite among LSU running backs, so it would seemingly be a seamless transition for the Lafayette native.

There’s certainly been plenty of change in Baton Rouge this offseason, but sometimes change is necessary to keep things from becoming stale.

Next. Big 10 ref not a fan of Bo Pelini. dark

Coach O has made all the right moves so far. I think that will continue to be the case.
