One of LSU football’s top 2021 recruiting targets recently revealed his top 11 schools.

2021 four-star linebacker Barrett Carter recently reveled his top 11 schools and LSU football made the cut.

Carter, 6-foot-1/220 lbs from Suwanee, GA, told Rivals that LSU is among his top 11, along with Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

The Georgia native hasn’t visited LSU yet, but that could change this spring. Carter told Rivals that he hasn’t decided where he’ll go on his five official visits, saying “I am wide open on official visits”. He also plans on taking numerous unofficial visits in addition to his official visits, which suggests he’ll find his way to Baton Rouge in the next several months.

(It’s worth noting that Carter has visited Auburn and Georgia four times, so a visit to LSU will be key in the Tigers’ efforts to land the dynamic linebacker.)

It sounds like Carter is taking his time with his college decision. He’s not going to commit until he’s absolutely sure it’s the right program. That means it could be a while before he announces his commitment.

In the meantime, the Tigers need to do whatever they can to land Carter. The highly touted linebacker runs a 4.59 in the 40 yard dash, so he’d be a great fit in Bo Pelini’s attacking defense.

Carter is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 8 player in the state of Georgia and the No. 6 outside linebacker in the nation. Rivals rates him as the No. 1 inside linebacker in the nation and the No. 35 overall 2021 player in the nation.
