LSU football will be one of several programs hoping to land 2021 four-star wide receiver Mario Williams.

LSU football, along with numerous other programs, will be hoping to get a commitment from 2021 four-star wide receiver Mario Williams.

The Tigers should have a good shot. Williams recently told Rivals that LSU is his “dream school” and that he’s “always wanted to go to LSU”.

Williams confirmed to Rivals that he plans to take official visits to Alabama, Georgia and LSU this year.

The 5-foot-10/165 lb wide receiver from Plant City, FL is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 5 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 39 overall 2021 player in the nation.

Rivals recruiting analyst Rob Cassidy recently suggested that Williams is on the verge of becoming a five-star recruit, noting his “explosiveness” and “near impossible consistency”. Cassidy said Williams reminds him of former Texas A&M wide receiver Christian Kirk, who now plays in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals.

Williams also plays baseball at Plant City High school as a pitcher and a center fielder. As a sophomore, he hit .280 with 9 RBI’s and 10 stolen bases.

It’s unclear if baseball will factor into Williams’ decision, but it would be a plus for LSU if it did. The Tigers routinely have one of the top baseball programs in the nation.

Williams seems like an incredibly well rounded athlete. He told Rivals last summer that he held a 3.6 GPA.
