2021 four-star wide receiver Mario Williams should be a top priority for LSU football.

LSU football is essentially “Wide Receiver U” at this point.

The wide receiver duo of Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase was by far the best in the nation in 2019.

With Chase back in 2020, and a recruiting class that includes five-star wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, the Tigers should once again have one of the best wide receiver groups in the nation.

Chase, unfortunately, will likely be gone after 2020. It’s hard to imagine him staying at LSU for his final season. And I can’t blame him — Chase would be a top 10 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft if he was eligible.

It will be impossible to replace Chase after 2020, but adding 2021 four-star wide receiver Mario Williams would certainly help alleviate the loss of the dynamic wideout.

Williams, who recently called LSU his dream school, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 5 wide receiver in the nation.

I have a feeling that might change in the near future. I’d be surprised if he’s not rated as a five-star by this winter.

Just check out these ridiculous catches he made at a recent camp.

Now imagine seeing him in a LSU uniform. Steve Ensminger and Scott Linehan could have a lot of fun with Williams.

The Florida native is physical and plays much taller than his listed 5-foot-10 height.

Williams is only going to get better as he finishes his high school career.

With him calling LSU his dream school, there’s no way the Tigers can let him slip away. He absolutely has to be a top priority for Ed Orgeron and his LSU staff.
