The upcoming 2020 NFL Draft will feature a lot of former LSU football talent.

Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow is going to be the top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

And for now, the Cincinnati Bengals hold the top selection in the upcoming draft.

But with speculation swirling that Burrow might not want to play for Cincinnati, it’s certainly possible the Bengals could trade the top pick and load up on draft picks.

If the Bengals decide to go that direction, I have the ideal team that should give Cincy a call.

The New Orleans Saints.

It’s absolutely perfect.

Drew Brees is going to be back in New Orleans next season for what is expected to be one last hurrah.

But with Brees’ career winding down, the Saints need a franchise quarterback.

And after enjoying Brees’ elite abilities for the last 14 years, it’s going to be a letdown seeing almost anyone else under center for the Saints.

Enter Joe Burrow.

The Saints need to go all out to trade up for Burrow. It would take a passel of picks, but landing a transcendent quarterback like Burrow would be worth it.

Now, there’s certainly some concern that losing a litany of draft picks could hinder the Saints’ ability to build a Super Bowl contending team in the future. But there are ways to build rosters through free agency. Look at the way the New England Patriots built a championship contending team by signing 14 players from the woeful 2013 Cleveland Browns.

Winning in the NFL is all about having the right guy under center.

And Burrow is the right guy.

Just imagine Burrow starring in New Orleans. It’s perfect. Burrow grew up a fan of the Saints. Sitting behind Brees for one season, before becoming “the guy”, would be another chapter in Burrow’s already storybook career.

And with all the crossover between the LSU and Saints fan bases, it’s possible Burrow would become the most popular NFL player in the country (the jersey sales would be insane).

I don’t want to go too far down the rabbit hole, but if Joe Brady performs well as the Carolina Panthers’ offensive coordinator, it’s logical to believe he would be the ideal fit as the future head coach of the Saints if Sean Payton ever bows out (which wouldn’t shock me, with NFL coaches exiting the game to spend time with family much earlier these days).

Next. Why 5-star LSU signee is beyond special. dark

I doubt any of this actually happens. But it would be a perfect scenario for the Saints, LSU fans and residents of Louisiana.
