LSU football is one of several programs in the mix to land a five-star wide receiver from Washington.

LSU football is hoping they can convince 2021 five-star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka to leave the west coast for Baton Rouge.

Egbuka, 6-foot-1/190 lbs from Steilacoom, WA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 7 overall player in the nation.

247Sports recruiting editor Brandon Huffman describes Egbuka as a player with “elite size and strength”, while noting that he is an “aggressive runner after the catch and elusive in the open field”.

Huffman predicts that Egbuka will be a future first round selection in the NFL Draft.

The dynamic wide receiver recently told 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong that Ohio State, Clemson, Oregon, LSU, Stanford, Oklahoma, along with his home-state school Washington, are the programs recruiting him the hardest right now.

Egbuka told Wilftong that he speaks with LSU head coach Ed Orgeron “regularly”.

The Huskies could be hard to beat for Egbuka, but the elite wide receiver told Rivals last month that “location really isn’t a factor” in his recruitment. However, Egbuka mentioned that playing in front of a lot of people is key, which could make Baton Rouge enticing to him.

LSU appears to be on the verge of becoming the go to school for elite wide receivers. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Orgeron and his staff lure Egbuka away from Washington.

The Tigers currently have four players committed to their 2021 recruiting class, including four-star wide receiver Deion Smith.
