LSU football’s Joe Burrow is expected to be the top selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.

There’s been a lot of discussion this month about whether or not LSU football’s Joe Burrow wants to play for the Cincinnati Bengals, the team with the first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

This narrative has centered around the perception that Cincinnati isn’t committed to winning a Super Bowl.

Burrow finally put the talk to bed on Tuesday at the draft combine, telling reporters that the media ran with a narrative that was never rooted in fact.

Here are Burrow’s comments.

When Burrow was asked if he’d report to the Bengals if they drafted him, he replied with a laugh, saying “of course, I’m a ball player”.

Burrow, who doesn’t plan to throw at the combine (and why should he), is a competitor. This is a guy who doesn’t shy away from competition.

And he’s also a guy that respects the draft process. He could easily pull an Eli Manning and manipulate his way to another team. But that’s not who Burrow is as a person or a player.

If the Bengals had any concerns about taking Burrow, and I seriously doubt they did, they should’ve been eased by his comments on Tuesday.

Burrow is a baller. He has the potential to change the trajectory of the Bengals franchise for years to come.

It’s rare we see a player as special as Burrow. He has all the tools, physical and mental, to be a MVP type player in the NFL.
