LSU Football: Ed Orgeron tells great story about Joe Burrow’s ability to lead
By Zach Ragan
LSU football found unprecedented success in 2019 and it had a lot to do with the leadership of Joe Burrow.
By now everyone knows that LSU football’s Joe Burrow was elite in nearly every way possible in 2019.
Burrow put up historically great numbers while leading LSU to a 15-0 record and a national championship.
But the numbers that Burrow achieved on the field might not be the most impressive thing about the soon-to-be top NFL draft pick.
Last season, Burrow proved to be an incredible leader for the Tigers.
Burrow’s unique ability to lead was evident the entire season. He truly took the offense to the next level.
On Wednesday, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron told a great story about Burrow’s tremendous leadership.
While discussing the importance of leadership, Coach O mentioned that the entire team had a volunteer practice last spring on a Saturday at 9 AM (without any coaches present). And it was led by Joe Burrow.
Burrow was such an incredibly special player for LSU. It just can’t be said enough. From his elite play on the field, to the way he embraced LSU, to the swagger he brought with him. It was a joy to watch him play.
(It’s also hard to believe, to this day, that Ohio State let such an incredible talent get away. But their loss was the Tigers’ gain.)
Burrow’s mental approach to football is what’s going to make him a special player in the NFL. Cincinnati Bengals fans should be very excited. They’re getting a potential future hall of fame player in Joe Burrow.
