Derek Stingley Jr — Cornerback

The mike linebacker might be the quarterback of the defense, but I don’t think there’s anything more important for a defense than having a shutdown cornerback.

And that’s exactly what Derek Stingley Jr proved to be as a true freshman.

LSU’s offense might be really good again in 2020, but it’s unlikely that it’ll carry the team the way it did in 2019. The Tigers are going to have to rely on their defense a bit more in 2019.

Having a player like Stingley will certainly help.

Stingley is already one of the best players in the nation. And LSU still gets two more seasons of him. It almost doesn’t seem fair.

As long as Stingley is wearing a Tigers jersey, there will be SEC quarterbacks having nightmares about him.

Next. LSU could dominate in a different way in 2019. dark

There’s no doubt that LSU is “DBU”. And Stingley might be the best one yet to come out of Baton Rouge.
