LSU football isn’t alone in their pursuit of a potentially elite 2022 cornerback.

LSU football is one of several schools hoping to land a commitment from 2022 cornerback Denver Harris, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Houston, TX (North Shore).

Harris hasn’t been rated yet by any of the major recruiting services. But he still has offers from some of the top schools in the nation, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, and Texas, among many others.

Early last month, Harris announced that his top eight schools were Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.

But it now appears that Harris is down to three schools (for now, at least).

The Texas native recently told Rivals that he’s mainly focusing on Alabama, LSU and Texas.

And based on Harris’ comments, it seems like the Tigers should have the edge.

Harris made it clear to Rivals that he wants to find a place where he can play right away and somewhere that will get him to the NFL.

LSU, which Harris called “DBU”, fits the bill

Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron has displayed a willingness to play young, elite cornerbacks early (just ask Derek Stingley Jr). And everyone knows that LSU puts defensive backs in the NFL on an annual basis.

There’s obviously a long way to go in Harris’ recruitment. He still has two more seasons of high school football to play. But for now it looks like LSU could be a perfect fit for the future stud cornerback.
