LSU Football: 3 things to know about new CFB Hall of Famer Glenn Dorsey
By Zach Ragan
Dorsey played for two legends
Glenn Dorsey is one of the few players at LSU that played for both Nick Saban and Les Miles.
Dorsey, of course, was recruited to LSU by Saban. He played under Saban as a true freshman in 2004.
After the 2004 season, Saban famously left Baton Rouge for the Miami Dolphins. And the Tigers hired Les Miles away from Oklahoma State.
Dorsey flourished under Miles (and defensive coordinator Bo Pelini).
As a freshman under Saban, Dorsey accumulated only 18 tackles in 11 games.
But in 2006 and 2007, under Miles, Dorsey absolutely exploded, totaling over 130 tackles during his final two seasons in Baton Rouge. He also had 10 sacks during that span. Dorsey helped Miles and LSU win a national championship in 2007.
Oddly enough, Dorsey also played against Saban during his college career. In 2007, LSU beat Alabama during Saban’s first year in Tuscaloosa. It was one of Dorsey’s best games of the season, too. Against the Tide, Dorsey had seven tackles (two for loss) and a sack.
