LSU Football: How Joe Burrow further proved he’s an elite leader
By Zach Ragan
Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow is a special player.
Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow already know he’s going to be top selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.
But that doesn’t mean he’s content with just sitting around while the Coronavirus outbreak has essentially shut down sports.
In fact, Burrow is trying his best to make LSU’s Pro-Day still happen.
And it’s not because he has a disregard for the health of the nation. It’s because he wants to help the players who didn’t have a chance to go to the combine. Burrow knows that a successful Pro-Day might be the only chance some players have to impress NFL scouts and executives.

This is the sign of a true leader. Burrow doesn’t just want to be great. He wants to elevate those around him, too.
Which is exactly what he did as a redshirt senior at LSU in 2019. Burrow’s emergence as a star last season likely helped the draft stock of players like Justin Jefferson, Thaddeus Moss and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Those players were already going to be drafted. But Burrow helped them take their game to the next level, which will likely make them more attractive to NFL teams.
And he wants to do the same in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak. It says a lot about Burrow that he’s thinking about the future careers of other players right now. That’s what makes Burrow an elite leader.
Unfortunately, though, it’s unlikely that any Pro-Days will happen — despite Burrow’s pleas.
This is an unprecedented situation. And it’s unclear when things will return to normal.
