Danielle Hunter — Minnesota Vikings — Defensive End

Danielle Hunter wasn’t suppose to be a star in the NFL.

It kind of just happened.

Hunter was selected in third round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Vikings. As a rookie in 2015, Hunter flashed his elite ability, compiling six sacks despite starting only one game.

In 2016, Hunter exploded for 12.5 sacks. Over the last two seasons, Hunter has totaled 29 sacks, while reaching two straight Pro-Bowls.

Prior to the 2018 season, Hunter was rewarded by the Vikings for his stellar play with a 5 year, $72 million extension. He’s played his best football since receiving a big contract. That’s not always the case in sports.

Hunter has become the centerpiece of the Vikings’ defense over the last couple of years. He’s absolutely one of the best former LSU players currently playing in the NFL.
