Patrick Peterson — Arizona Cardinals — Cornerback

Patrick Peterson was selected with the fifth overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2011 NFL Draft.

He’s lived up that draft slot.

Peterson reached the Pro-Bowl in each of his first eight seasons in the NFL. The 2019 season was the first time in his career that he failed to reach the Pro-Bowl. And that’s only because he was suspended six games for a PED violation (which ended his chances of reaching the Pro-Bowl).

The Florida native still had a solid season in 2019, despite playing in only 10 games. Peterson compiled 54 tackles and two interceptions.

In his career, Peterson has totaled 25 interceptions and 438 tackles. He also holds the record (which he shares with three other players) for the most punt returns for a touchdown in a season (4).

Peterson has quietly had a Hall of Fame caliber career. I think he’s one of the more under-appreciated players in the NFL over the last decade.

Next. Joe Burrow further proved he's an elite leader. dark
