LSU beats Bama

The road to the SEC championship runs through Tuscaloosa.

Though that might be changing soon.

But for the last decade, Alabama has been the standard in the SEC. Until a team beats Bama, they can’t be considered a threat to win the national championship.

That’s why LSU’s win against Alabama last November was so important.

By the time the Tigers and the Crimson Tide played in 2019, LSU had beat three top 10 teams. The Tigers were a legitimate threat to compete for the national championship.

But until they beat Alabama, they were simply just a threat.

When LSU beat the Tide in Tuscaloosa in early November, it signaled to the rest of the nation that we might be seeing something special. It was at that point that folks outside of Baton Rouge realized LSU was for real.
