LSU Football: Ed Orgeron’s 5 most pivotal moments in Baton Rouge
By Zach Ragan
Winning it all
As good as LSU was in 2019, it wouldn’t have meant much if they didn’t finish the deal and beat Clemson in the championship game.
No one would’ve cared how many points per game LSU averaged if they went 14-1. No one would’ve thought about the broken records and the fact that we saw one of the greatest teams of all time had they lost to Clemson.
Winning it all in January was necessary to validate Ed Orgeron — even though he clearly did a terrific coaching job through the first 14 games of the season.
There are still plenty of folks who think LSU was a one year wonder in 2019. But what folks tend to forget is that none of this happened by chance. Coach O orchestrated all of this. From the moment he was hired as LSU’s full time head coach, he’s been working toward winning a championship . Every move he made was made with a 15-0 record in mind.
And it all worked. Orgeron made all the right moves. Which is why I think fans, and non-fans, should have a lot of faith that Coach O will be able to do it all over again in the near future.
