2022 LSU football commit Khamauri Rogers is locked in with the Tigers.

Back in November, LSU football received a commitment from 2022 4-star defensive back Khamauri Rogers.

Rogers, 6-foot-1/165 lbs from Lexington, MS, is already one of the top players in the 2022 recruiting class. 247Sports rates him as the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi and the No. 32 overall player in the nation.

Landing a commitment from Rogers is obviously great for LSU. But receiving a commitment from a player — especially a player who still has nearly 2 years left in his recruitment — is only half the battle.

Players can commit and decommit whenever they want. There’s nothing about a commitment that binds a player to a program. Which means just because LSU received a commitment from Rogers, doesn’t meant the recruiting stops.

The Tigers still have to keep him in the boat.

Fortunately for LSU, it sounds like Rogers is locked in with the Tigers.

The Mississippi native recently told Rivals “There really wasn’t a No. 2 school when I committed to LSU and it is still that way. I cannot even tell you what it would take to change my mind.”

Rogers added “I just feel really good about LSU”.

This is definitely a player LSU wants to bring to Baton Rouge. 247Sports national writer Charles Power says Rogers “shows good ball skills” and has the ability to make plays downfield in coverage. Power also noted that Rogers shows “early signs of physicality as an open field tackler and in defending the run”.

Ed Orgeron’s program is building a reputation as a place that sends defensive players to the NFL on a regular basis. It’s not hard to see what Rogers is solidly committed to the Tigers.
