LSU football is sending the right message to elite 4-star safety

LSU football is hoping to land 2021 four-star safety Kaine Williams.
2021 four-star safety Kaine Williams was planning to commit on Monday. Instead, he named his top three programs, which included LSU football.
Alabama and Texas A&M are the other two schools in Williams’ top three.
Williams, 6-foot-2/205 lbs from Marrero, LA, is by 247Sports as the No. 5 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 3 safety in the nation.
It’s no surprise that LSU is one of Williams’ top schools. His hometown, after all, is just a short drive from Baton Rouge.
The Louisiana connection is something the Tigers are preaching to Williams in the recruiting process.
Williams recently told Rivals “they think it’s amazing for people to put on for the state and for me to stay home”. The dynamic safety added “by staying home, if something happens with my family I can be only an hour away”.
The Louisiana native told Rivals that he plans to commit before the start of his senior season.
LSU certainly needs to get Williams in the boat. 247Sports recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks describes Williams as a “ballhawking safety who’s constantly around the ball”. Brooks also noted that Williams is “dangerous with the ball and becomes a threat to score after the interception”.
Recruiting is always fluid, but if I had to bet on where Williams will land, I’d guess LSU. The Tigers simply don’t let elite players leave the state of Louisiana. And it’s clear they’ve made Williams a top priority.
LSU, by the way, currently has five commits to their 2021 recruiting class.
