LSU football is hoping to secure a commitment from 2021 four-star offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson.

LSU football, along with numerous other top programs in the country, is strongly pursuing 2021 four-star offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson.

Ferguson, 6-foot-4/300 lbs from Fort Valley, GA (Peach County), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 5 player in the state of Georgia and the No.3 offensive guard in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 52 overall 2021 recruit in the nation.

Rivals recently “ranked the contenders” for Ferguson. They have Georgia and Alabama at the top of the list, but LSU is in a close third.

According to Rivals recruiting analyst Chad Simmons, the Tigers have “quietly been in the top group for Ferguson since early last fall”.

Simmons noted that Ferguson has only visited Baton Rouge once, but added “the offense and the tradition at LSU continue to put the Tigers in Ferguson’s top group”.

Florida State and Texas A&M are the other programs considered to be in the mix to land the elite offensive lineman.

247Sports national writer Charles Power says Ferguson “plays with an edge and finishes blocks with authority”. Power also noted that Ferguson “projects as a multi-year starter at the Power Five level with the upside of developing into an early round NFL Draft pick”.

Ferguson’s relationship with LSU offensive line coach James Cregg will be key in the Tigers’ pursuit of the four-star recruit.

In fact, LSU could actually gain some ground with Ferguson in the next few weeks, despite the fact the Georgia native can’t visit the Tigers right now (because of the recruiting shutdown due to the coronavirus outbreak). Cregg has plenty of time to strengthen his relationship with Ferguson.
