Top 5 uniform combinations in the SEC
By Zach Ragan
1. LSU Tigers — Purple jersey, white bottoms
I love all of LSU’s uniform combinations. And I love their yellow helmets. And the yellow pants.
But there’s not a better looking uniform combination in the SEC than the Tigers’ purple tops with white pants and white helmets.
This uniform just absolutely pops in person and on television. The purple cleats really help bring it all together. The yellow that’s present is just the perfect amount to really make this uniform stand out.
As for the helmets, I think it’s the cleanest, sharpest looking helmet in football.
LSU actually wore their purple jerseys three weeks in a row in 2019. It was the first time they had used purple jerseys three weeks in a row since they wore them twice at the end of the 1993 season and twice at the start of the 1994 season.
The Tigers wore the uniforms against Northwestern State, Vanderbilt and Utah State in 2019. Against Northwestern State and Vanderbilt, LSU wore the purple jerseys with white pants and white helmets. Against Utah State, the Tigers wore purple jerseys with yellow pants and yellow helmets (which is another good look).
I’m glad LSU mixes up their uniforms combinations throughout the season. I think they have the best looks in the SEC. And I like seeing them all.
But there’s no doubt in my mind that the purple/white/white is the best uniform combination not only in the SEC, but in the entire nation.
