LSU football’s Joe Burrow will almost certainly be the top selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.

I’m not a fan of comparisons for LSU football’s Joe Burrow. I tend to think they’re a waste of time.

Which makes it kind of awkward that I’m about to compare Burrow to future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.

It’s probably not wise to do this. I know better.

But I truly believe Burrow is going to be the next Brady. Maybe his career won’t completely parallel Brady’s, but Burrow is going to be the next transcendent quarterback that has a long legacy in the NFL.

And it’s all because of one reason — Burrow doesn’t know anything but winning. It’s literally all he knows how to do.

Burrow recently appeared on Shaquille O’Neal’s The Big Podcast with Shaq and discussed the fact that he’s never been on a losing team.

“I’ve won everywhere that I’ve been and I’ve never had a losing season in sports from the moment I was five years old. I’m not a loser”, said Burrow to O’Neal.

The national championship winning quarterback is aware that he’ll be drafted by a team that is coming off a terrible year (probably the Cincinnati Bengals). But that doesn’t seem to be a deterrent for Burrow.

“Teams are picking at the top for a reason and I feel, like I said before, I’ve won everywhere that I’ve ever been and I feel like if anybody can do it, I can do it.”

The thing that’s made Brady so great has been his ability to lead. Sure, he could make all the throws in his prime. And he’s always been able to read a defense. But his leadership is what’s always stood out to me. I’ve never seen a leader in the NFL quite like Brady.

And I see those same qualities in Burrow. Which is why I think we’re on the verge of seeing the next truly great quarterback.

The only difference between Brady and Burrow is that no one expected it from Brady, a former sixth round pick. Everyone is expecting it from Burrow, the likely No. 1 overall pick. The pressure to perform will be high for Burrow.

Next. LSU is winning the war inside Dabo Swinney's head. dark

But I have a feeling Burrow will be able to meet expectations without any problems — otherwise I wouldn’t be comparing him to the greatest quarterback of all time.
