LSU football is one of the teams to beat for an elite in-state four-star wide receiver.

2021 four-star wide receiver Chris Hilton recently announced his top six schools and LSU football made the cut.

Hilton, 6-foot-2/175 lbs from Zachary, LA (Zachary), also included Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame and Texas A&M among his top schools.

The Louisiana native, who lives just a short 15 minute drive from Baton Rouge, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 4 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 5 wide receiver in the nation. He’s also rated by 247Sports as the No. 51 overall 2021 recruit in the nation.

Hilton, who reportedly runs the 40 yard dash in 4.45 seconds, told 247Sports this week that he has a “strong” relationship with the LSU coaching staff, adding that he thinks the Tigers’ new offense (with new passing game coordinator Scott Linehan) is “looking good”.

Rivals recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman recently “ranked the contenders” for Hilton, with LSU as the program most likely to land the dynamic wide receiver.

Spiegelman said that Hilton has “emerged as a priority” for the Tigers, noting that head coach Ed Orgeron and wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph “are leading the charge” for the talented four-star recruit.

247Sports midlands region recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks describes Hilton as an “instinctive player with body control who adjusts well to the ball when needed”. Brooks added that Hilton has “good ball-tracking ability on deep routes” and is “capable of getting separation quickly downfield and in short game”.

Hilton is expected to make a decision before the early signing period in December, according to Rivals.
