LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron can’t say enough good things about Joe Burrow.

LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron never passes up an opportunity to offer praise for quarterback Joe Burrow.

And it’s easy to see why. Burrow’s incredible 2019 season is directly responsible for LSU’s 15-0 season and their win against Clemson in the national championship game.

In those 15 games, Burrow passed for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns with only six interceptions. I know I’ve said it a lot over the last few months, but those numbers are insane. I’ve typed those stats out many times since the end of the season and I’m still in disbelief every time I see them.

On Tuesday, Coach O spoke to reporters via teleconference and he gave Burrow one of the biggest compliments I’ve ever heard the LSU coach give a player.

Orgeron said he believed Burrow was the most focused player he’s ever been around.

That comment carries a lot of weight when you think about some of the truly great players that Orgeron has been around during his coaching career.

Coach O has been around Reggie Bush at USC, Drew Brees with the New Orleans Saints (in 2008) and Eric Berry at Tennessee (2009). That’s one of the greatest college running backs ever, one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks ever and one of the greatest college safeties ever.

When Orgeron hands out compliments, they mean something. He wouldn’t just say that about any player, considering some of the great players he’s coached and coached against.

I’m starting to think Burrow truly is a once-in-a-generation player. He has the potential to be the next Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. And he’s good enough that he doesn’t have to land in a great situation — he can vastly improve any team he goes to in the NFL (which will likely be the Cincinnati Bengals).

Next. Justin Jefferson is still getting disrespected. dark

Get ready to be entertained by Joe Burrow on Sundays. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
