LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow will likely be the top selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.

LSU football’s Joe Burrow called Louisiana home for the past two years, but he’ll likely be returning to Ohio for his NFL career.

The Cincinnati Bengals have the first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and virtually every draft analyst on the planet is expecting them to select Burrow.

Burrow, who played at Ohio State for three seasons before transferring to LSU, grew up in Athens. OH. His family still lives in the Buckeye State. Burrow returning to Ohio for his pro career is something straight out of a movie.

But just because Burrow is going back to his home state, doesn’t mean he’s forgetting about Louisiana.

In fact, Burrow put up a billboard this week to thank the state of Louisiana.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Burrow completely embraced Louisiana and the state’s culture during his time in Baton Rouge. His “Burreuax” jersey on senior night last season is a memory that will last forever.

Burrow told Off the Bench in Baton Rouge last week that he feels like Coach O and LSU resurrected his career. And he pledged to return to Louisiana often, saying “They gave me the platform and the opportunity. It’s not the last you’ll see of me, I’ll be back all the time”.

It’s clear that Louisiana will always be a part of Burrow. And that makes him even more special to LSU fans.

I doubt there’s much crossover between LSU fans and Bengals fans, but I have a feeling we’ll see a lot of Tigers fans cheering for Cincinnati in 2020 and beyond.

It sure is going to be fun seeing Burrow say “LSU” when he’s introduced on Sunday Night Football.

Burrow is clearly proud of being a Tiger. And I know LSU fans are extremely proud of Burrow.
