LSU football sent more players to the NFL in 2020 than any other college program.

LSU football set a new standard in the 2020 NFL Draft by having 14 players selected.

That’s a new SEC record (breaking the previous record of 12 by Alabama in 2018) and it tied the all-time record set by Ohio State in 2004.

Of the 14 LSU players selected in this year’s draft, five of them were first round picks (Joe Burrow, K’Lavon Chaisson, Justin Jefferson, Patrick Queen and Clyde Edwards-Helaire).

While there’s no way to know if the Tigers will have five players selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, LSU will absolutely be well represented in the early rounds.

Here are five Tigers that should be high draft picks next year.

Ja’Marr Chase — WR — Junior

Let’s just go ahead and start with the obvious name. Ja’Marr Chase is the best wide receiver in the nation. After catching 84 passes for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2019, he would’ve likely been the first wide receiver selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Fortunately for LSU, Chase wasn’t draft eligible. Which means Myles Brennan will have the most dangerous offensive player in the nation lining up on the field with him in Baton Rouge this season.

Clemson cornerback AJ Terrell, who was selected with the No. 16 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in this year’s draft, said earlier this year that Chase was the best wide receiver he faced this season.

Chase is a complete wide receiver that will be able to make an immediate impact for an NFL franchise.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Chase is a top five selection a year from now.
