LSU football’s Ja’Marr Chase will be one of the top players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.

LSU football wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase probably would’ve been one of the top wide receivers selected in the 2020 NFL Draft had he been eligible.

But fortunately for the Tigers, Chase was a sophomore in 2019, which means he has two years of eligibility remaining at LSU.

Unfortunately for LSU, there’s virtually zero chance Chase plays two more years in Baton Rouge. He’ll almost certainly be off to the NFL after the 2020 season.

And he’ll be one of the top players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.

In fact, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, one of the most respected draft analysts in the business, recently released his 2021 Mock Draft and he has Chase being selected with the No. 4 overall pick.

The team that Brugler says will have the No. 4 pick?

The Cincinnati Bengals…..which means he’d be reunited with former Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow.

(Note: Brugler said he used the inverse of current Super Bowl odds to come up with his early 2021 draft order.)

This would be an amazing landing spot for Chase.

Burrow and Chase had incredible chemistry in 2019. With Burrow under center, Chase caught 84 passes for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns. The yardage and touchdown total led all FBS wide receivers.

It’s unlikely that Chase will replicate those same numbers in 2020 without Burrow. But even with Myles Brennan under center (who has the talent to be the top quarterback in the SEC), Chase should still dominate for the Tigers.

The Bengals will probably struggle a bit in 2020 (there’s a reason they had the No. 1 overall pick), so it’s very possible they have the No. 4 overall pick.

If they don’t end up with a pick that high, however, they’ll likely have to trade up if they want to draft Chase — he’s going to be a hot commodity.

Next. 5 Tigers that should be high draft picks in 2021. dark

And that would be a wise move, because we’ve already seen that the Burrow/Chase connection is beyond elite. There’s no reason to think they wouldn’t also thrive in the NFL.
