LSU football’s K’Lavon Chaisson was selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

LSU football’s K’Lavon Chaisson was one of 14 Tigers selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Chaisson in the first round with the No. 20 overall pick.

Chaisson didn’t put up monster numbers at LSU in 2019 (6.5 sacks), but he clearly showed enough potential to be a first round pick.

With Chaisson off to the NFL, it means LSU will have to identify replacements for the dynamic pass rusher.

The Tigers have several options already on the roster to fill Chaisson’s role (a role that will change a bit in Bo Pelini’s new 4-3 defense). BJ Ojulari could get some serious playing time as a true freshman.

But LSU also has to constantly look toward the future as well. That’s what recruiting is all about.

The Tigers believe they’ve found a 2021 recruit that can fill that role.

Four-star defensive end Keanu Koht.

Koht, 6-foot-4/215 lbs from Vero Beach, FL, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 21 player in the state of Florida and the No. 10 weak side defensive end in the nation.

247Sports national writer Charles Power describes Koht as a player who is “twitchy and fluid in his movements with a bounce in his step”. Power also says Koht “closes quickly to make plays behind the line of scrimmage both as a pass rusher and in pursuit”.

Koht recently told Rivals “LSU sees me filling in the role of K’Lavon Chaisson. Being that dominant versatile pass rusher.”

The dynamic pass rusher added “I’m extremely interested in LSU, along with a few other schools”.

Programs can never have enough pass rushers. It’s one of the positions on the field that has the biggest impact.

Ed Orgeron and his staff are always looking to add impact players.

And it’s clear they believe Koht could be one of those players.
