LSU football could be the team that lands an elite running back from Ohio.

Four-star running back Corey Kiner is one of the top 2021 running backs in the nation and LSU football could soon be landing a commitment from him.

The talented running back is expected to announce his commitment on Monday and Rivals recruiting analyst Josh Hamholdt thinks the Tigers are the team to beat for Kiner.

“Kiner says he moved his commitment date up because he feels comfortable with ‘a certain team’. I expect that certain team to be LSU when the four-star announces his decision on Monday”, said Hamholdt this week.

Louisville and Cincinnati are the other programs that are considered to be strongly in the mix for Kiner (he reportedly has a great relationship with Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield).

Kiner, 5-foot-10/205 lbs from Cincinnati, OH (Roger Bacon), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 7 player in the state of Ohio and the No. 10 running back in the nation.

Rivals national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu describes Kiner as a player who “runs hard and shows good balance and ability to break tackles” and “shows burst and accelerates quickly when he gets the ball”. Trieu also noted that Kiner “projects as a productive, starting back at the Power Five level and someone who will have an opportunity to play beyond college”.

Kiner, who hasn’t been able to visit Baton Rouge yet, also has notable offers from Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee.

LSU currently has nine players committed to their 2021 recruiting class. They don’t have any running backs committed yet.
