LSU football is the team to beat for one of the nation’s top 2022 running backs.

LSU football might be focusing on their 2021 recruiting class right now, but that doesn’t mean they’re ignoring the 2022 class.

Ed Orgeron and the Tigers are always a step ahead on the field. The same goes in recruiting.

LSU appears to be the team to beat for 2022 running back Jaydon Blue, 5-foot-11/209 lbs from Houston, TX.

In fact, if the Tigers don’t land the talented running back, it will be a major disappointment.

Blue recently spoke with Rivals about his recruitment and it’s clear that LSU is at the top of his list.

“I told him I already know. LSU has been my dream school since I was little,” said Blue.

The Texas native added “Growing up I have always watched LSU play football. I had a cousin (Craig Loston) who played for them as well before he went to the NFL. I just loved LSU so much growing up.”

Blue mentioned that he almost went ahead and committed to the Tigers, but he decided to wait and let things play out until his senior year.

It just seems inevitable that Blue will be spending his college career in a LSU uniform. But it’s understandable that he wants to let the process play out first.

247Sports midland region recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks describes Blue as a player who “hits the hole hard and gets downhill in a hurry”. Brooks also noted that Blue is “agile enough to make defenders miss at the second level”.

Blue is rated by 247Sports as the No. 11 player in the state of Texas and the No. 7 running back in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 80 overall 2022 recruit in the nation.
