Former LSU baseball standout Alex Bregman may have some beef with King James.

Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman has been in the news a lot during this extended offseason.

Bregman was infamously wrapped up in the Astros sign stealing scandal that rocked the sports world pre-coronavirus pandemic.

Now, Bregman could be in headlines for a different reason.

A potential beef with LeBron James.

Here’s why.

Bregman broke ties with his agent Brodie Schofield this week. According to the Houston Chronicle, Schofield formerly ran Tidal Sports Group, before it was acquired by Klutch Sports Group back in April.

Klutch Sports Group was founded by James’ agent Rich Paul.

Here’s where things get interesting.

A little over a week ago, James’ film company, Uninterrupted, announced that a documentary on the Astros’ sign stealing scandal was on the way.

I don’t think it’s any coincidence that Bregman departed the agency after the announcement of the documentary.

And can you really blame him?

Regardless of where you stand on the Astros sign stealing scandal, you have to admit it would be pretty awkward for Bregman to associated with the company making a documentary about it.

The scandal happened. There’s nothing Bregman can do about it now. He’s still going to play professional baseball. And if this is what he has to do to move on from everything that happened in 2017 in Houston, then so be it.

It probably doesn’t help that James played in Cleveland for 11 of his 17 years in the NBA, either. Bregman and the Cleveland Indians (most notably pitcher Mike Clevinger and former Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer) have traded words multiple times over the years (mostly via Twitter).

Suffice it to say, there isn’t much love lost between Bregman and the city of Cleveland.
