LSU football is pursuing a four-star outside linebacker from Virginia.

LSU football, along with numerous other programs, is pursuing 2021 four-star linebacker Naquan Brown.

Brown, 6-foot-3/205 lbs from Virginia Beach, VA (Ocean Lakes), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 7 player in the state of Virginia and the No. 11 weak side defensive end in the nation.

The Virginia native, who has offers from LSU, Miami, Penn State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, among others, is described by 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn as a player who “offers position flexibility as defensive end or outside linebacker”. Dohn also noted that Brown has “plus athleticism, very good burst at snap” and he “plays fast and is fearless, willing to sacrifice body to make [a] play”.

The right attitude to play in the SEC

It’s obvious from Dohn’s description that Brown plays hard at all times, which is what it takes to be successful in the SEC.

Brown recently spoke with Rivals about his recruitment and his words match his actions on the field.

The four-star recruit made it clear that if he’s going to play in the SEC, then he has to get stronger.

“I’m already explosive off the ball, but in case I go to the SEC I’m mainly trying to get stronger. SEC has big players in that conference so I’m working on getting stronger,” said Brown.

The nation’s No. 201 rated recruit added that he’s “definitely a hard-working player and a player that balls out to give his all……someone who comes from nothing just trying to make it”.

I know recruiting is all about landing elite athletes. But players also need to have the right attitude. Playing with heart isn’t something that should be overlooked.

And it’s clear that Brown plays with a lot of heart.

If the Tigers are able to land Brown, they’d be getting a player that would certainly give his all for LSU.

dark. Next. The next Coach O is already in Baton Rouge

And that’s the type of player the Tigers need in Baton Rouge.
