LSU Football: Top 5 all-time worst SEC coaching hires

LSU football has a connection to one of the worst SEC coaching hires of all time.

The SEC has featured some of the greatest head coaching hires of all time. And the conference has also featured some of the worst head coaching hires of all time. LSU football has a connection to both.

Today, however, we’re focusing on the worst hires. The top five worst, to be exact.

These are hires that were doomed from the start. Hires that probably should’ve never been made and altered the future of programs.

For some of the hires, there were special circumstances that contributed to the hiring decision.

Some of the hires were made because of previous connections to the program.

And some of the hires were made because….well…..the athletic departments at those programs had absolutely no clue what they were doing. So they closed their eyes, threw a dart and made the phone call (at least that’s how I imagine it went down).

With that in mind, here are what I believe are the five worst coaching hires in recent(ish) SEC history.
