Jabril Cox — Linebacker — Senior

Jabril Cox transferred to LSU after starring at North Dakota State for three seasons.

Cox was an FCS All-American as a true freshman for the Bison. He was then an All-American selection as a sophomore and junior.

In 2019, Cox totaled 92 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss. 247Sports national writer Charles Power called him “one of the top overall players in FCS last year”. Power also noted that Cox “is a legitimate NFL prospect”.

Cox is expected to start at outside linebacker in the Tigers’ new-look 4-3 defense under Bo Pelini.

The highly productive former FCS linebacker will provide LSU with plenty of versatility. He can rush the passer if needed, or he can drop into coverage and cover a wide receiver. Basically, he can do whatever LSU needs him to do at linebacker. There’s not a situation where it will be necessary to take Cox off the field.

That versatility is what could make Cox a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
