Recruiting analyst predicts LSU football will land nation’s No. 11 recruit

LSU football is in a good position to land one of the nation’s top-rated 2021 recruits.
2021 five-star offensive tackle Tristan Leigh is one of the top recruits in the nation and it looks like he’s trending toward LSU football.
247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong recently made predictions for some of the top-rated uncommitted 2021 recruits and he has the Tigers landing Leigh.
But while Wiltfong predicted LSU for Leigh, he didn’t express a lot of confidence in his pick.
“I give the slightest of advantages to LSU and we’ll see what happens moving forward as Leigh plans to take his officials once the dead period is lifted,” said Wiltfong.
Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Ohio State, and Oklahoma are also in the mix for Leigh.
Leigh would be a huge addition for LSU football
Leigh, 6-foot-5/270 lbs from Fairfax, VA (Robinson Secondary), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia and the No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 11 overall 2021 player in the nation.
247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons describes Leigh as a player with an “athletic, long-armed offensive line frame that will add mass quickly on the next level”. Simmons also noted that Leigh “has the upside to be a multi-year impact Power Five starter with the potential to develop into a mid to early round draft pick”.
Leigh is obviously an extremely talented player, but that’s not the only reason he’s such an important recruit for the Tigers to land.
One of Wiltfong’s other predictions this week was for 2021 five-star offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer, which is one of LSU’s top recruiting targets.
Wiltfong, however, has Alabama landing Brockermeyer (and presumably his brother, four-star center James Brockermeyer).
If the Tigers miss on Brockermeyer, then Leigh essentially becomes a must-get player for Ed Orgeron and his staff.
