LSU football is hoping to land a four-star defensive tackle from Alabama.

LSU football is one of the programs strongly in the mix to land 2021 four-star defensive tackle Tim Keenan III.

Keenan, 6-foot-2/340 lbs from Birmingham, AL (Ramsay), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 10 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 19 defensive tackle in the nation.

Rivals recruiting analyst Chad Simmons recently “ranked the contenders” for Keenan and he has LSU as the second most likely team to land the highly touted defensive lineman (behind Alabama).

“Over the last couple of years, Keenan has taken four visits to Baton Rouge. He has always been high on the Tigers due to their history on defense,” wrote Simmons.

The Rivals recruiting analyst added “more than anything, LSU’s production of defensive prospects stands out to Keenan”.

It should be mentioned that while Simmons has Alabama at the top for Keenan, it’s not like the Crimson Tide are way out in front for the talented defensive tackle.

Simmons said Keenan has not “dropped any hints to who his favorite is”.

Landing Keenan would be a nice addition for LSU football

Keenan is the type of player that every SEC program would love to land. He’s probably not going to light up the stat sheets, but he could be an important presence on a defensive line.

Winning in the SEC is all about winning in the trenches. And that’s exactly what Keenan would help the Tigers do.

247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons says Simmons is “hard to move” and “commands attention on the interior”.

Next. Joe Burrow already being treated as a veteran QB. dark

Keenan told Rivals last month that he isn’t planning to announce his commitment until later this winter.

Alabama may be the team to beat for Keenan, but you can never count out Ed Orgeron and LSU when it comes to defensive linemen.
