LSU football’s most dangerous game in 2020 will happen early in the season.

LSU football will be out to defend its 2019 national championship this season without most of the players that helped them win it.

With so much talent off to the NFL, there are numerous games on the Tigers’ schedule that could be considered “dangerous”.

247Sports, however, thinks that LSU’s most dangerous game will come early in the season against Texas.

(Note: 247Sports is insinuating that a “dangerous” game is one where a team might overlook an opponent.)

“LSU will be favored in the opening game hosting Texas in Baton Rouge. And the Tigers won in Austin last season. But LSU lost a ton of personnel off its 2019 title squad, while Texas returns a ton,” wrote 247Sports national analyst Bud Elliot.

“Texas is probably not a game LSU will overlook, given its sandwich sides are UTSA and Rice. But it is probably the only losable game before the trip to Florida, and Texas should be able to score,” added Elliot.

LSU football won’t be overlooking anyone

Elliot is right — the Tigers won’t be overlooking Texas.

In fact, I don’t think LSU will be overlooking anyone in 2020. That’s just not how an Ed Orgeron-led team operates.

LSU knows they’ll be getting everyone’s best shot in 2020. The Tigers might not start the season as the perceived favorite to win the national championship this season, but they’re still the kings of college football until someone knocks them off the throne.

There isn’t a better motivator in college football than Coach O. And the fact that some analysts are “down” on LSU after their domination in 2019 is all the motivation the Tigers will need in 2020.

Texas better be ready on September 12, because LSU is on a mission to prove everyone wrong this season.
