LSU Football: Ed Orgeron’s top 5 wins as Tigers’ head coach
By Zach Ragan
LSU 42 Clemson 25 — January 13, 2020
This is what it’s all about — winning the natty.
LSU’s season up until the national championship game against Clemson was absolutely perfect.
But if they didn’t walk away with the trophy at the end, it would’ve been a massive letdown.
Fortunately for LSU fans, they didn’t have to experience those emotions.
Clemson was definitely one of the top two-three teams in the nation in 2019. The fact that LSU boat-raced them in the national championship tells you just how magical the entire season was for Ed Orgeron’s squad.
There aren’t many active coaches that can claim a national championship. Regardless of what happens in the future, Coach O will always be mentioned among the elite (I have a feeling, however, that Orgeron will be adding some more championships to his resume).
Though, even if LSU wins more nattys under Coach O, none of them will compare to the win against Clemson in January 2020. That’s because this is the win that put a bow on possibly the greatest season in college football history.
