An NFL Pro-Bowl cornerback threw some shade at LSU football this week.

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, who was named to his first Pro-Bowl in 2019, threw some massive shade at LSU football this week.

Humphrey suggested on Twitter that LSU shouldn’t celebrate too much after beating Alabama in 2019.

“LSU beating Bama for the first time in years and acting like they have been dominating”, tweeted Humphrey in response to a tongue-in-cheek tweet.

The Tigers took down the Crimson Tide 46-41 in Tuscaloosa this past season, on their way to a perfect 15-0 season.

Humphrey played at Alabama from 2014-2016. He was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens (No. 16 overall pick).

Humphrey’s trash talk about LSU football is somewhat justified

I haven’t seen LSU fans acting like the Tigers have been “dominating” Alabama for years. I’ve simply seen fans happy to celebrate an amazing season that happened to include an important road win against the Crimson Tide.

However, if there’s a sector of fans that have been acting that way, then I get where Humphrey (who went 3-0 against LSU during his time in Tuscaloosa) is coming from.

The Tigers’ win against Alabama in 2019 was their first win against the Tide since 2011. In LSU’s three previous meetings against Alabama, the Tigers scored a total of 10 points.

There’s certainly been no domination on LSU’s end.

But, at the same time, the Tigers currently have the upper-hand in the series. You’re only as good as your last game, right? And right now, LSU has all the bragging rights.

The Tigers also have a ton of momentum moving forward. Maybe LSU hasn’t dominated in recent years, but that doesn’t mean they won’t in the coming years.

At the very least, I don’t think we’ll see LSU go another eight years before beating Alabama again.
