LSU Football has a couple of true freshmen wide receivers that could be special for the Tigers in the coming years.

The amount of talent LSU football has assembled at the wide receiver position is ridiculous.

Even with the loss of Justin Jefferson (who led the team in receptions with 111 in 2019) to the NFL, the Tigers still have a stable of talented wide receivers.

Junior Ja’Marr Chase is the best wide receiver in the nation (and it’s not particularly close). Junior Terrace Marshall Jr will be LSU’s No. 2 wide receiver in 2020 after catching 46 passes for 671 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2019.

Then there’s senior Racey McMath, a player that Ed Orgeron is expecting to have a breakout season in 2020.

Those three wide receivers could be the most talented trio in the nation. And they’ll also all likely be gone after the 2020 season (Chase and Marshall will probably head to the NFL after their junior seasons).

But that’s no reason for LSU fans to fret — because there’s plenty of young wide receiver talent already on the roster.

Pair of talented true freshmen could be stars in Baton Rouge

When Chase, Marshall, and McMath leave Baton Rouge after the 2020 season, the Tigers will have the luxury of plugging in two 2020 signees that have the potential to be tremendously great in the SEC.

Five-star Kayshon Boutte and four-star Koy Moore are already impressing for LSU and they’ve barely had any time (thanks to the coronavirus pandemic) to show off their skills.

247Sports’ Billy Embody reported this weekend that Boutte has been receiving praise during workouts for his “potential to be special”.

Embody also reported that Moore’s work ethic has been very apparent during recent workouts.

It certainly sounds like Boutte and Moore have the potential to be the next Chase/Jefferson-like combination at LSU.

You know what they say, the rich get richer. And that’s certainly true in Baton Rouge.
