An LSU football player is speaking out about his experience with COVID-19.

Over the last several months we’ve heard numerous instances of athletes contracting COVID-19, including several LSU football players.

For the most part, we don’t hear much about how the virus affects various athletes. A lot of times of the players are asymptomatic or have mild cases.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case with LSU’s Travez Moore.

Moore, a former four-star junior college transfer who signed with the Tigers during the 2018 recruiting cycle, shared his experience with COVID-19 via Twitter this week.

Here’s what Moore had to say:

That certainly sounds scary. And it’s a stark reminder that although the virus can spare folks, it can also hit young, healthy adults hard for seemingly no rhyme or reason.

Hopefully, Moore is able to make a full recovery, though it’s unclear where he’s at in his recovery or when he specifically had the virus.

LSU football’s 2020 season will be unlike any other

The SEC is going to do its best to play football in 2020. That’s the reason we’re getting a ten-game conference-only schedule.

Essentially, the goal is to minimize the risks and get through the season as safely as possible with few setbacks.

Of course, there will inevitably be some setbacks. We’ve seen from MLB’s restart how tough it can be to contain an outbreak. It’ll be even tougher for college football teams, which carry a roster four times the size of an MLB roster.

We all want to see college football this fall. But we all want the players to be healthy, too. Hopefully, the SEC and the NCAA find a way to make that happen. Otherwise it’s going to be a long, depressing fall without the best sport on the planet.
