LSU football is in a good spot for an elite 2022 running back from Texas.

The focus this week has been on fall camp getting underway, but that doesn’t mean recruiting has stopped for LSU football (recruiting never stops).

The Tigers are working on adding a few more players to their 2021 class, while also building their 2022 recruiting class.

One of LSU’s top targets in the 2022 class is four-star running back Jaydon Blue, 5-foot-10/205 lbs from Houston, TX (Klein Cain).

Blue is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 11 player in the state of Texas and the No. 4 running back in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 63 overall 2022 recruit in the nation (Rivals rates Blue as the No. 1 running back in the 2022 recruiting class).

LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia are the programs that appear to be near the top of the list for Blue.

Where does LSU football stand for Blue?

Blue recently discussed his recruitment with Rivals and he had plenty of great things to say about the Tigers.

“Ever since I got the offer from LSU, I have been pretty excited. That was one of my dream schools since I was little. I had a cousin who went there (Craig Loston), so I watched him a lot on TV,” said Blue.

The dynamic running back added “LSU is my type of offense. They use a spread offense and put running backs out at wide receiver. I can catch, so it’s my type of offense”.

Blue is planning to takes some visits before making a decision (whenever visits are allowed to resume, which likely won’t be this fall).

LSU currently has seven players committed to its 2022 recruiting class. The Tigers don’t have a commitment yet from a running back.
